"Feeling better now?" asked Mamoru Chiba. He was still buttoning up his shirt. The two of them had left the apartment building in somewhat of a rush. He had classes to attend that morning. It wouldn't do to be late. He had decided to go for Toudai instead of going abroad for his studies, professing that he didn't want to be far from his Usako. He had other reasons as well.
"Yeah, I am," smirked Haruka. "Makoto is quite the party girl when she's had a few."
"And, despite her tough-girl exterior, Kino's a delicious plaything when she's sober," Mamoru commented as he smoothed out the wrinkles on his shirt. "I'd expect it more of Mizuno than her. Such a bundle of contradictions. Then again, each of the girls have their little secrets." He then glanced over at Haruka. "And someday, I'll know yours, too, Tenoh." A teasing smile was on his face.
"Dream on, my Prince," replied the young woman good-naturedly. She stopped the car at the intersection. The light was red.
"Oh, I will. I assuredly will."
"Feh. You couldn't handle me even if you ever did get into my pants."
"Big words, Tenoh. Can you back it up?"
The two looked at each other for a moment, waiting for the signal light to change. They then burst into laughter as the lights told them to go. The conversation resumed later as the car neared a subway terminal.
"So, what are you going to do about Michiru?" asked Mamoru as he opened the passenger door.
"Beg," replied Haruka. "Grovel. Say I'm sorry. You know the drill." She let out a sigh. "I should have been more careful. Guess I'll be in the doghouse for a while. But, given time, she'll calm down and take me back."
"I hope you're right," said Mamoru as he closed the door. "But I've got this uneasy feeling it won't be that easy. I hope I'm wrong." Straightening up, he then added, "If it doesn't work out, you know I'll always love you." He had a big grin on his face.
"Flirt," said Haruka as she rolled her eyes. "Catch you later." She waved as she drove off, heading towards her date with a race track.
