Ranma never realized in those other timelines that there really was a reason why certain people saw him as something completely different than what he was.
In this timeline however the sentinel program was functional and Ranma's course had been altered away from Nerima. Poor Akane would get married eventually but never quite be satisfied with her man's performance. Poor Nabiki would always be searching for that perfect money-making opportunity. Poor Kasumi would never find that nice young man whom would treat her like his best friend and perhaps one day love. Kodachi never did find her dashing white knight to rescue her from her family. Tatewaki never found a villain for him to campaign against and win the heart of fair damsel. Soun's dreams of his school's legacy being passed on by a great teacher would fade into bitter memories. In fact all of the people who would have been in Ranma's life if it were not for the existance of the Sentinels were forever left wishing for that certain someone that never came around.
Of course not everyone lost out by the chance in locations. Ryoga had just as much trouble finding Ranma now as he would have had just in Nerima. Shampoo, Mousse, Cologne and the rest of the Chinese cast would still find themselves drawn within his sphere as the alteration occurred only after Ranma's initial trip to the land. As for the others..? Only time would tell... but perhaps there is hope yet left within their lives.
