The lighting inside the place was dimmed. The panda couldn't tell it was still daylight outside it was so dark. He barely made out the bar as he shuffled towards it. It took him awhile to get there; there had been some sort of dance floor he passed through. Sitting at a bar stool, he signalled the bartender for some service.
After the panda flashed some yen notes, the barkeep put down a basket of pretzels, a bottle of beer, and a glass of hot water in front of the beast. Splashing himself with the water, Genma then took a swig of the bottle, swallowed some pretzels, and congratulated himself on getting away from his pursuers. He was laughing quite heartily when the bartender put another bottle in front of him.
"From a friend." The barkeep then pointed at the other end of the bar. Another man was seated there. The guy raised a glass in greeting. Genma raised his bottle in reply, puzzled by it all.
Taking another pull from his beer, he surveyed the rest of the room. This place was quite strange, in his opinion. He'd been in places where the clientele had been limited to men before, but he'd never seen one where there had been no waitresses or hostesses. What a strange place.
Genma looked the room over again. The men were dressed differently from the normal salaryman. They looked like bikers, with all those leather and spikes on their clothes. Well, they must be; it would explain why they were all so friendly to each other. Several of them were dancing together on the dance floor. What camaraderie!
Genma was feeling downright nostalgic. It reminded him of his training under the Master with Soun. What a great place this was, even if it was somewhat strange. He must make sure to remember this place, maybe even bring Soun with him next time. When he'd calmed down that is. That thing with the dojo was just a temporary thing. He was sure he could smooth things over with his old friend.
