Fortunately for him, he had been able to acquire a new Host to replace his old one. And another Ring to replace the one he lost. A Ring of Imprisonment, containing one of the Five Dysfunctional Witches. Tellu was now his to command. He owed much of it to Nine, making him greatly indebted to her. It was she who had led his weakened spirit to the boy. It would be worth it though for another chance at destroying that mage and his Rune Cards.
"The power of Nature's might shall overcome all those foolish enough to stand against its champion! So sayeth the Nature Boy, Tatewaki Kuno! Age 11!"
His current Host was such an enthusiastic one, much different from his previous one. Ukyou Kuonji had been a chore to take over; her focus and drive for vengeance had been matched with her dedication to okonomiyaki. It had been difficult to mold that mind to one suited to his nature.
But this one, this one was perfect for him. Easily lost in dreams of grandeur, he was a puppet just waiting for its master. He even had an appreciation for the beauty of plants. The entire family did; a shame Nine had already laid claim to the rest of them.
Elsewhere in the same household, a young woman consulted with her 'servant' within the sanctuary of her room. She sat in front of a mirror, admiring the appearance of her new body. She appeared to be around 16 years old.
"It is time, Eudial, for Kodachi Kuno, the Black Rose of St. Hebereke School for Girls, to grace the high school rhythmic gymnastics world with my presence. I, who is the shining star of middle school rhythmic gymnastics, shall blaze upon the scene and rise to the top!"
"Yes, Mistress. But, of course, Mistress."
"OH-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO!"
The First of the Witches Five sighed in resignation. She had been doing a lot of sighing ever since a little girl had opened a present from her father in Hawaii and had found a ring inside of it. The Ring of Imprisonment to which Eudial had been bound. The girl's brother had also received a ring, the one containing Tellu.
Eudial had examined the dreams of her 'Mistress', and had then offered to make them come true. Years of training in rhythmic gymnastics, a legacy from the girl's dead mother, had led to a desire of becoming a champion. Of becoming someone worthy of praise and not of reproach. Yet another legacy from the mother.
School records had been changed; people's memories had been altered. Kodachi Kuno became a member of the middle school division for the St. Hebereke rhythmic gymnastics team. Her young body would be aged to an appropriate maturity, if for just a temporary basis, for each competition. At least, that was the plan.
The girl had not been content with just being a member; she wanted to be a team captain. Easily arranged. Such hubris would bring her under control even more. She also didn't want to even bother waiting for the day of the meets to arrive before facing the competition. The girl wanted to eliminate the other gymnasts beforehand, disqualifying the opposing team from competiting. That was perfectly fine with the witch. The child was turning out to be an excellent tool.
What was not acceptable was the pitiful nature of those preemptive strikes against the other rhythmic gymnastic teams. A face full of zits. A severe case of athlete's foot. Hang-nails. Stubbed toes. Pathetic. Her 'Mistress' was still a child after all.
Now, the girl wanted to participate in high school rhythmic gymnastics. Yea. If Eudial hadn't been ordered by her true Mistress to serve this false 'Mistress,' she'd... What had she done to offend her true Mistress? Whatever it was, she was truly repentant for it. This was the kind of work that second-rate hack, Mimette, would do, not her, Eudial, the first of the Witches Five.
There had been other rings; two had been mailed to China. The one containing Mimette had fallen into the hands of elders in a village of Chinese Amazons. The double ring containing Ptilol and Cyprine were in another village, but the twins had yet to be discovered by those who could oppose them. They continued in their mission to subvert natives in the region and to keep an eye on Galaxia. The one they truly served would have them spy on those who could oppose them.
Mistress Nine had held on the ring containing Viluy. Her power over computers and other electronic equipment was useful in her current campaign. The atmosphere of frustration, grief, anger, and other darker emotions she was creating with her sabotage of commercial transportation was quite delicious. As more and more people became overwhelmed by their baser sides, the Dark Genies grew in strength and regained more of their power. The island nation of Japan would provide the Wraiths with an unbreakable foothold with which to conquer the rest of the world.
The Rebellion would rule this world of man, through the right of their might. Humans would be the ones serving as slaves, serving in whatever manner the Dark Genies wished. And no Endymion and Serenity would stop the Wraiths this time.
