As he ran, Genma realised that his wife was not going to give up. Yet, he couldn't keep running. If he fled he'd never be able to make Ranma realise what a mistake he'd made and get back together with the right girl. Besides, Nodoka was amazingly spry and bound to catch up with him sooner than latter.
There was only one option left. He was loathe to do it, but he had no choice. There was no way to avoid it; he had to prove his manliness to Nodoka.
