Symbiont - Mercury: Some history befor Impact. [Episode 33984]

by Zack

Many, many years ago, just a few years before the fall of the Silver Millennium, a challenge was held amongst the inner planets. A contest to develop a transformation device similar to that of the Sailor Senshi.

To bring about the next generation of device to be used for the protection of the population from the evils beyond the edge. To bring about a new Silver Millennium.

And it succeeded all to well.

The art of technology and magic had advanced far beyond what had existed when the Senshi were created many millennium ago. And it showed..

The "Mercury Knight armor", funded by the moon kingdom itself, was the first to finish. While it's physical strength and magical resistance wasn't nearly as good as the Senshi, it's strength's more then made up for it. Speed and agility that surpassed even the Senshi's abilities in eternal form. A full dozen magical attacks. It also had limited capacity to absorb magical attacks.

It also was bonded with a male. To some of the nobles of the various planets, this was not acceptable. Efforts were made to call off the contest. Plans were implemented to slow them in the mean time.

They succeeded well enough. By the time the Mercury Knight armor was field tested, Beryl's attack was under way. The Mercury Knight armor was destroyed soon after in a battle with Invincible Shadow.

The other projects never reached full completion.

Earth's entry was completely halted, though a few of enchantments developed by it were incorporate into Prince Eydimons' armor.

Venus's project, S(uper)A(rmor)V(enus)-01, was only 85% complete at the end of the Silver Millennium. The high energy orbital laboratory it was being developed in around Venus was flung out into the far reached of the solar system soon after the fall. Most likely due to containment failure of one of the experiment.

Mar's project, Heavy Armor TEMPEST, was not due to be competed for another decade. Physically, it was complete, but It's Operating System was being completely rebuilt after it experienced a ‘Fatal error’ in it s OS upon start up and destroyed everything with in 100 miles of it's location. For safety and security reasons (not to mention to make sure nothing was in range of it's primary weapon), it was placed in a Mars crossing solar orbit, disguised as a asteroid.

Jupiter's project, Storm Driver, was entered into the competition by the Ionos Shipping Company. At 98% compilation, it was the farthest along of the other projects, other then Mercury's. At the time of the fall, it was being shipped to the moon for final construction and activation by it's chosen operator, Lady Misty, the daughter of the Ionos President and a good friend of Lady Jupiter. It never made it to the moon.

All three, due to one mishap or another, were sent hurtling through the solar system. And due to some strange reason (or more likely, Luck), all three had reached the planet Earth at the same time, and had fallen very near each other, relatively speaking.

------ In the sky above Tokyo, three objects fell.

The first, Heavy Armor TEMPEST, plummeted quickly to the earth, it's massive bulk tumbling and dissolving, until it's outer shell vanished, revealing a humanoid shaped object, and much smaller, unidentified form. The first part plunged into the harbor, throwing up a huge plume of water, and flooding the shore. The second part continued on, landing noiselessly somewhere in the center of Tokyo.

The second, SAV-01, seemed to be on a course to completely miss the city, until a small explosion violently changed it's course and it crashed into an empty lot near a school.

The third, Storm Driver, fell much more normally, coming in low and much faster then the others. It smashed through the plume of water caused by the first one, then hit the docks, skipping once upon the ground in a great spray of dirt, and losing much of it's momentum. It arced high into the air, only to come falling down to earth a few seconds later, crashing into a young lady.
