"Indeed it does, Tendo! Our Schools will be united once and for all! No doubt about it!"
The two men started upon the obligatory mad laughter that signaled the start of another plan to join the two houses. That is until Akane smashed the breakfast table upon the two of them.
"Why don't you two give it a rest already! I'm not marrying that idiot pervert! Sheesh!"
With that said, she got up to head towards the hallway and out the front door. She still had school that morning, for crying out loud! All this trouble for that jerk. Not that she was concerned about him or nothing. He always turned out okay in the end. Even when he didn't deserve to. She would have gone on mumbling about her fiancee, too, as she walked to school if she hadn't stepped on the discarded spellbook as she got up.
"Akane dear, I'm not sure it'd be wise to read that thing."
"Huh? What, Kasumi? Oh, this? I'm just looking at it. There's no harm in that, is there?"
Splash! The sound of a glass of water being emptied of its contents interrupted the two.
"If you'll excuse, Miss Tendo," said Cologne towards Kasumi, "I'll be taking my leave now. It's been nice talking to you and your family this morning, but I feel I must get started on that staff vacation right away." The old woman then picked up the moist duck and cat out of wet clothes they had been tangled in. She rapidly made tracks out of the Tendo residence.
"Wait, Cologne! About that waitress job?" Nabiki Tendo made her way out of there as well. While dragging a surprised Kasumi Tendo behind her.
"But what about the house?"
That left two unconscious fathers with large lumps on their heads and a distracted Tendo daughter reading the book. Happosai had long vacated the premises.
