Faking It: The Taskmaster [Episode 34160]

by Bladewing

He walked the streets, noticing the differences that 20 years has brought. The city seemed to have healed from the damage that he and the rest of the 'Nerima Wrecking Crew'. Maybe after he finished this job, he would look up how some of the others were doing, if only to get a small measure of revenge.

Those twenty years was spent improving himself to a point where he could see a physical attack or defense once and then he could use it as his own. Of course he was still working on using his ki to duplicate energy based moves. Magic was not something he could use, but he had done a job for a Doctor Doom, who removed his curse as payment.

He straightened his cloak, helpful in concealing all his weapons. He was especially proud of the shield that he had 'borrowed' from Captain America, better known as President Steve Rogers. It was one of his greatest achievements to take it from him.

Ranma has also worked with the deadly Black Widow, the Executioner and even with Apocalypse’s Horsemen. Hydra has hired him on occasion to train troops or to perform a high-risk task. Even Norman Osborne has hired him to acquire the odd artifact. These facts and many others have granted him his reputation.

He had returned to Nerima because Viper had asked him to perform a job for her. She wanted to explain it in person, since she wanted to meet him face to face.

Ranma made his way into the warehouse district, he noticed a few ninjas from the hand keeping an eye on him as he made his way to the address he was given. Walking up to the door, he checked for traps, as you could never be too careful. Finding none, he made his way into the building and spotted Viper sitting in the only well lit part.

The light framed her head, leaving her face darkened, undistinguishable from his current vantage. As he walked up, she spoke to him.

"Ah, Taskmaster. It is nice to see that you are as punctual as advertised."

"Well, when you contacted me for a job and offered an advance if I showed up early...Well I just couldn't resist. Not often I get an offer like that." Ranma tried to get a good look at her face, but she kept it just inside the shadow effect caused by the lighting.

"I guess that I should confess that there was another reason for me to ask you to get here early...Ranma."

A chill crept up Ranma's spine, not to many people new that he was the Taskmaster. His specially made skull mask could fool even the most advanced of scanners. That meant that whoever the Viper really was, there was a good chance that she new him before he left this city. He turned to her ready to voice his question, when she beat him to the punch.

"Why really Ranma, you don't recognize me? I guess it should come as no surprise since you left so hastily. It's me..."
