Moon Prince: Angels and adversaries [Episode 34406]

by Kestral

The pale girl with the blue-gray hair and reddish eyes stood next to the piano and began to sing in a nice if not terribly emotive voice.

"Fly me to the moon and let me play among the stars,
Let me see what spring is like on Jupiter and Mars..."

"So," Sailor Pluto said, ignoring the cameo, "the Prince is going to run into a new problem very very soon."

"What sort of problem?" asked Mercury.

"Quite simply, one of his rivals gains access to a large amount of power and forgets one of the primary rules about making deals with demons," explained Pluto.

"What's that?" asked Moon.

"Other than 'don't'?" Pluto sipped at her tea. "The Three Laws Of Demonology are:

  1. If you make a deal with a demon, the amount of effort it puts into it is indicative of how much pain and suffering will be spread by it.
  2. If you think you came off best with a deal with a demon, check your fingers, toes, relatives... You are most likely missing something you had when you started the dealmaking.
  3. If the demon smiles. Worry. A lot. It probably means that you've doomed yourself and everyone you hold dear to the worst possible outcome."
"How bad could it be, we've faced Metal'la?" pointed out Venus.

"Metal'la was weakened by her manifestation, by being defeated prior to regaining full strength during the Silver Millenium, and by thousands of years of imprisonment," pointed out Pluto. "The Doom Tree was weakened - the entire point of going after Earth's energy. Pharoah 90 was pretty much at full power but didn't have the opportunity to manifest completely in this universe before it was fighting Sailor Saturn at the height of her powers with Sailor Moon at her own full power. Low level demons you can easily take on. Major demons could be a problem and are not in any way easy to fight. Archdemons - I would expect us to win but there would be casualties."

"Oh," said Venus.

"Ranma should be awakening soon, though he still hasn't quite reconciled Prince Ran of the Moon Kingdom with Ranma Saotome," said Pluto to her guests. "When we return, we'll be running on absolute relative time."

"So that every minute we spend here, a minute passes back in the past?" guessed Mercury.

"Exactly," agreed Pluto. "I wonder how Genma is doing..."
