Ranma flexed his muscles and made the liquid-like shadows dance around him in a terrifying and beautiful display. He only needed a thought and they would reshape themselves into a variety of forms, both offensive and defensive. With the added power his enchanted armor lent him, he was the perfect warrior and executioner Iceron had envisioned.
*CRASH* In their hurry to flee Ranma's supposed wrath, the Tendos, Genma, Shampoo and Ukyo made the door explode under their combined pressure. Once out of the Nekohanten, they ran away as if the hordes of Hell were after them.
The one they feared so much didn't care about this display of cowardice (Or would that be wisdom ?). He would have dealt with them only if they had become obstacles to his mission. He had wererats to hunt ! He would find them, kill them and feast on their still-hot entrails ! Ranma roared and sank slowly in his own shadow as if it was a pit of tar. It vanished shortly after he disappeared in it.
Ranma stepped out of a dark corner of Nerima's streets, right next to the spot where he found the box. He sniffed the air, trying to catch the scent of his prey but it was almost gone. The stench of a modern city also helped cover their trail. Fortunately, his sense of smell wasn't the only tracking method he had at his disposal. A quick motion of his head activated the aura tracker function of his helmet.
Ranma's normal vision was replaced by a black and white scenery where any color would indicate the presence of magic or the supernatural. He smiled ferally as he saw the colored foot tracks left by three people. There was no mistake about it, such filthy auras could only belong to wererats.
Ranma tensed then jumped on a nearby roof, creating a small sonic boom and leaving a crater in the pavement. He ran and jumped at such speeds that tiles were sent flying on his path, roofs crumbled down, pylons crashed to the ground and vehicles were knocked over.
Somewhere along the way, Ranma shifted into smilodon form. People screamed in terror when they saw a huge armored sabertooth tiger the size of a car run in the streets, uncaring of what or who stood in its way.
A few minutes later, he had traced back the wererats' trail to Gothwrain's office then to Narita, Tokyo's main airport. Back in human form, he had followed their aura traces until it disappeared at a boarding door. After asking Narita personnel and consulting the flight schedules, he had found out that his preys had taken a plane to Atlanta in the United States.
With his shadow powers and the Umisenken, it was child's play for Ranma to hitch a ride on the next flight to Atlanta without paying a ticket or going through customs. In the baggage hold, the weresmilodon decided to sleep for the duration of the journey (with one or two runs into the passenger area to get some food). Once he arrived in atlanta, he would resume the hunt.
Nowhere to run where he couldn't go faster than them, nowhere to hide where he couldn't find them. The three wererats were already dead, they just didn't know it...
