Generally wishes of this nature were handled by ZEUS, the Department of Cosmic Justice, Irony, and Vengeance. Sure, the Department Of Jinx and Curses made the decree to give him a wish, but it was ZEUS that had to carry it out for reasons not understood except the fact that the Department Of Jinx and Curses was known to be a rather lazy group.
How anything got done there, no one knew.
ZEUS itself was named as such as Zeus, the Greek God of Thunder and head of his pantheon, also headed the offices and was allowed to name things after himself.
Zeus himself, however, was out of the office as he was spying on an orange skirted defender of love and justice and coming up with a way to get her in the sack.
Therefore it was Hera, Zeus’ wife, who was heading the office for the time being while her husband was out ‘fishing’. Fishing for what she didn’t know, and quite honestly, no longer cared. So long as no more misbegotten bastard sons of her husband were running around...
Okay, so maybe trying to kill and do harm to Hercules was a little over the top. And the thing with turning Callisto into a bear wasn’t right either, as Zeus had disguised himself. And the thing with Gerana really was sort of spiteful of her...
Okay, she wasn’t exactly the nicest goddess around, but she had learned to curb her jealousy and resentful ways. Eventually. Mostly.
She’d make Zeus go shopping with her later. He hated that.
For the most part while heading ZEUS she was responsible for anything that came up, Ranma’s wish being one of them.
Ranma Saotome was well known among the gods, and that was before slaying Saffron. It wasn’t his skill in combat that made them take note, although it was noted, it was the unusual love... multi-gons he ended up in. Some gods would laugh at his misfortune, with other would sympathize, and others still just watched him because it was the thing to do up in Olympus these days.
Hera herself rather pitied the poor soul, stuck in going-nowhere relationships, the same tired old cycle broken up by a challenge or adventure, and with no one really appreciating him that much.
"Grr. I wish I had at least ONE fiancée who'd be nice and listen to me and would actually help me in situations like this."
This wish was now on her plate. The question was how to grant it.
She could engage any woman she pleased, but there were a few things to take note. The woman in question would have to be willing to accept that her future husband would be a wife at odd times. She would need to be a skilled fighter or someone with a lot of power to fend off jealous rivals that, she hated to admit, made her spats seem tame at times.
Well, so she thought anyways.
The other standards, nice, willing to listen and help him out tended to be bundled in the same package. Usually. But how many mortal women fit ALL of the parameters given? Well she should do a search on the computer through the files of all single mortal women, but she wasn’t Aphrodite. Love was not her department; Hera just handled things AFTER people fell in love.
Ah, screw it! She’d just fix him of with Diana, Princess of Themyscira and the superhero known as Wonder Woman. She could go out of her way to re-write history to put them together, but it was getting near the end of her shift so she’d just give Hermes a message stating the new arrangement to be delivered to Diana and Ranma by her will, Ranma’s wish and Zeus’ will by extension. And she had a basket full of Zeus’ lightning bolts, just in case someone disagreed.
There. A job well done. Maybe she should try and resolve that thing at the Hina Inn while she was at it?
...
Wait, wouldn’t Diana’s enemies follow her, to attack a person that was now associated to her and would someday be her husband?
...
Nah.
