Kasumi frowned as she looked at her mother's journals. Some of these she felt she knew well enough... but the rest...
Her face pinked as she thought about some of the sections of those journals. Ahem... she certainly didn't know a lot about... err... a couple of mother's "wifely duties". With mother gone, though, how was she supposed to learn all this?
She sighed and looked at Ranma, currently struggling to fit that nice Kuno boy in... oh, my, the small waste basket from Nabiki's room. That didn't look comfortable at all. Still, it WAS in the journals... duty number five was to "discipline your husband", and she supposed that this was something of the sort.
Oh, how she wished that there was someone who could explain all these to her! Duties number eight and nine, "The house is an extension of yourself" and "Good food leads to a good family", were straightforward enough. Or, at least, her mother had taught her what they meant.
But how, exactly, was a wife supposed to discipline her husband? Or when? And what about the eleventh duty, "the fires of anger quickly turn to passion"? Or...
She closed the precious books and put them away for now. Later today she'd take some time -- right now the kitchen needed to be cleaned and the trash taken out.
She smiled politely at Ranma, changing with a quick cup of hot water, as he waved goodbye with a cheery expression, a waste basket tucked under his arm. She looked around and noticed the kitchen looked spotless, with all of the breakfast mess cleaned up. What a nice young man. A bit rough around the edges, but that was understandable, with his living on the road for years. Maybe if his mother visited more often, he --
Her train of thought stopped suddenly. Maybe his mother could help her out? Surely the wife and mother of a martial artist knew what all these wifely duties meant!
Humming a happy little tune she heard her mother sing many years ago, she gathered up her mother's journals, checked the house to make sure it was all clean before she left, and then set out to talk with Nodoka Saotome.
