Akane was currently a 4WD Pickup Truck, of a size that was atypical for Japan. This was not a wimpy little "riceburner" pickup truck, such as you might see owned by a Mom & Pop Grocery Store - a V4 engine.
Akane eventually came to the conclusion that this was a dream and just went with it. A strange dream, but a dream nonetheless.
When she got a good look at herself in the reflection of a mirrored window in the business section of Furinkan, she was surprised again. No, she was not a petite little vehicle.
She was a glossy black, gold trimmed, longbed pickup truck. She wasn't familiar with American built vehicles or she would have expected to see a suitable logo on her tailgate. She wasn't a wimpy little pickup at all. No, she was a V8 fuel injected turbo charged, works-for-a-living, pickup. The sort that could be seen at construction sites hauling loads of bricks and rebar up dirt hills to areas where the roads existed only on some map still. She was just a lot cleaner.
Akane caught a glimpse of her tailgate and saw the word "TENDO" emblazoned there. How odd.
She arrived late for school when it finally dawned on her that this was not a dream.
Achoooo!
Akane stumbled to a halt and checked her hands. She was back to normal. It couldn't have happened, could it?
"Hey Akane," began Yuka until she sneezed. "Oh man. This cold is terrible."
Sayuri merely waved while blowing her nose.
"Hi you two. Well, it only lasts a couple of days," said Akane, convincing herself that she hadn't been a truck.
"By the way," said Yuka, "did you see that huge truck driving around earlier? It must have been a publicity stunt of some kind - because there wasn't a driver."
Akane twitched.
