Though Akane looked perfectly normal, she was actually now a biomechanical construct. She had a "human" mode, a "robot" mode, and her "vehicle" mode.
Akane was sturdy, fairly strong, had a strong engine, and good stamina. All of which were reflected in her vehicle mode as a pickup truck.
Likewise Kasumi getting up to go clean off the walkway, got outside into the street and had a dizzy spell as she shifted into her new mode as a:
