Japan was no exception, but their warhawks were different as they had their eyes on a certain district in the capital of their own country, not another nation.
This district: Nerima.
Ever since the martial art battles in Nerima resulted in property damage, the warhawks of the Japanese government wanted to insert a military presence in the district, as law enforcement failed to do anything about them. Their complaints were shouted down by others who either didn't see a problem in Nerima that needed a military response or were 'supported' by the construction industry, the only industry benefiting from the martial art battles.
But when the flu was traced to Nerima, and the recent reports of Taro and Happosai came about, the warhawks had a voice, and was able to convince an all out military assault was necessary to resolve the crisis. Considering none of the local 'heroes' were going to arrive soon, the Japanese government needed to display a show of force to convince its citizens its was doing something.
As such, they were now going to throw everything the JSDF had into Nerima. Tanks, copters, fighters, bombers, divisions of infantry... everything but the kitchen sink....
"Damn you weakings! You dare challange the grandmaster of Anything Goes?" Happosai looked down at the bloodied officers and would-be heroes that tried to stopped him. Taro only paused to remove the body that got impaled on his horns. Both of them then looked at the futile blockade the police set up in hopes of containing them.
A couple of explosives later the casuality count has reached 25.
"Hmph.... come on now Taro... it's time to reclaim...." Happosai stopped as air raid sirens began to wail. All the survivors or the rampage started scurrying away as the blarings was accompanied by the whistiling sound of something falling....
