He glanced back to see if it was following him for a moment, and suddenly stopped in his flight when the solid wall seemed to just appear in his path. The adventurer held his position against the wall for a brief second.
"Ouch." He groaned before limply falling to the floor. It was in standing up that he noticed that his torch had been blown out.
"I have to light this thing again," he sighed.
He reached into his pocket for the striking stones he had found earlier and took a couple minutes to light his torch. The light flared up and illuminated the small chamber he found himself in.
It was covered on all sides by the hieroglyphics that seemed to proliferate in this place.
"Ooo....puzzle..." he said in an almost drunk manner.
Looking up he saw a slot in one wall through which a steady streaming of sand was falling through.
Obviously it was meant to let light in, probably part of the puzzle. He sighed in brief annoyance at the incomplete puzzle and bent himself to looking at the various carvings.
"Cats, cats, cats, cats, cats, hmmm...cat playing with yarn." he looked back up to the slot and scratched his head.
Glancing in another direction he saw where the firelight was glinting off tarnished metal and noted the angle compared to the slot in the wall. He reached out and pushed his finger into the "yarn."
He chuckled to himself as the wall opened up, and checked the new corridor for any more Lovecraftian surprises before continuing.
