"Heller, I'm going to get you for this," she declared, rage fueling the words. She looked up and saw the light from Jeremiah's torch. "Well at least it looks like he's stopped for the moment," she said as she picked herself up.
As she approached the torch she saw Jeremiah standing perfectly still looking across the room. She raised her pistol and pulled the trigger, aiming straight at Jeremiah.
She started to smile...then the pistol jammed. Kiyoko looked at the gun in disbelief and threw it at the ground.
"Why me?" she pleaded to whatever power was listening.
