Akane didn't know exactly what to make of this situation. Her sister, Nabiki, had just thrown a tantrum. Blinking her eyes, she noticed her father begin to dance. Her father... Dancing? Her sister, who never throws a tantrum, was throwing a tantrum, and her father, who is never happy, is dancing around in jubilation?
"Daddy?" the bedazzled girl asked.
The dancing father was completely oblivious to his daughter; however, his words weren't lost on her. "Joining of the families," "My little girl is getting married," and "The school will live on," got her attention, and got it good.
Akane wouldn't admit it, but she wanted to be the center of attention. This, however, was one thing she was glad she didn't have to worry about. "Bleh," she thought, "boys are icky!"
With that, the young Akane decided to question Kasumi about this boy, his father, and, more importantly, her father. "Kasumi-neechan," she called out towards the kitchen, as she walked through the family room.
"Hello, little sister," Kasumi beamed.
"Who is Daddy's friend, really?" Akane asked, then continued, "Daddy is dancing around and talking about marriage."
"What? We're too young!" Kasumi exclaimed.
Akane rubbed her temples; the young girl could feel a migrange settling in.
"My, oh my, this isn't proper at all," Kasumi stated, "that boy seemed nice enough, but I wonder why Daddy... Oh!"
"What is it 'neechan?" Akane asked.
"Daddy must mean when everyone is older. No one is getting married Akane," Kasumi stated relieved.
Akane wasn't satisfied, she was still concerned about the fit that Nabiki was throwing. Daddy never got happy when she had a tantrum! "Why would Daddy bring that up after Nabiki got so mad?" she finally asked.
"Hmm, I guess because Nabiki likes Ranma?" Kasumi responded.
"Whoa," Akane muttered.
Smiling, Kasumi added, "Nabiki took Ranma to show him around Nerima."
"Okay," With that Akane sped out the door, "Nabiki, I'm going to save you from that Ranma."
Speeding out of the Tendo compound, Akane just caught sight of her sister and that boy dissappearing into the horizen. Deciding quickly to follow them, she put her everything into a full sneakiness exercise.
"Nabiki is crying? On that Ranma's shoulder?" Akane asked under her breath. Then, she began to crack her knuckles, "He's not getting away with this."
After a bit more, she saw Nabiki kiss him! She was stunned! Her sister was kissing a boy? "Oh no," she thought, "this is worse than I could have imagined!"
"What was that?" asked Nabiki.
"Uh.. eh.. a-hehehe," Ranma answered intelligently.
"Really," Nabiki rolled her eyes, "a peck on the cheek is no reason to lose touch with reality, Saotome."
"Whatever," Nabiki finished, then began pulling the stunned Saotome along behind her.
