: To Nodoka's House We Come [Episode 37764]

by Targhan

Rolling her eyes, Nabiki advised, "Ranma stay here, while I send my sister home."

"Yup," Nabiki thought while walking towards her sister, "this is definately home. We may have gotten zapped through time, but this is definately my sister."

"Oh man," Ranma concluded, "Can't even make a good tactical call as a kid, and here I thought it started because of me."

"Akane," Nabiki started, "Haven't I told you that some things are my business, and you should let them be?"

Akane's glare turned from the icky boy to her, now, more yucky sister, HUFF.. "What are you," PUFF... "Talking," HUFF... "About?"

Nabiki pointed her finger into the air, "Ranma is family, and we take care of family right?" Not waiting for Akane to respond, the middle Tendo sister continued, "I was upset because I am worried about us,K?"

Still huffing and puffing, Akane nodded, still not completely understanding the situation.

"I'm helping Ranma find his mom, and I need you to go home and run interference with Daddy and his Dad," Nabiki stated with conviction.

Slowly nodding, Akane asked, "What do you mean, 'interference'"?

Nabiki, rolling her eyes, tried to explain, "Keep Daddy and everyone from looking for us. They've got to stay home, and, no matter what, don't mention Ranma's mom!"

Having a slight better explaination, Akane got up, and replied, "Okay, neechan, but you'de better know what you're doing!"

Ranma couldn't stand the waiting, "girls are all bakas," he thought. Tapping his foot, as if to hurry his time-travelling companion, Ranma sighed heavily.

"Ranma."

...

...

"RANMA!" Nabiki finally demanded, while thinking, "Is he getting more scatterbrained by the minute?"

"Heya 'biki-chan, you done?" Ranma asked.

"'biki-chan," Nabiki thought; then, she rolled her eyes, okay we've got to get to your Mom's house, Ranma."

"My Mom?" Ranma asked.

"Oh no!" Nabiki exclaimed aloud, "We've got to hurry! Think, Ranma.. Try to remember, darnit!"

"Just kidding, Nabiki, geez," Ranma smirked.

Punching Ranma in the arm again, Nabiki exclaimed, "Don't do that BAKA!"

"Owww! Hehehe, you really are your sister's sister!" Ranma chuckled.

"Good one, Saotome. Did you come up with that one all by yourself, or have you been collecting fortune cookies again?" Nabiki chided.

"H. Hey!" Ranma responded, wide-eyed.

"We're starting to act like kids, Ranma." Nabiki stated with a slight amount of reserve.

"Nabiki," Ranma replied, "you think maybe you should write down all of that money stuff, and the training stuff too?"

Quickly checking her pockets for money, she found enough Yen to get a pad and a pen. "C'mon, Ranma! We've got to hurry!"

Again, Ranma felt like he was waiting forever, while Nabiki went into the little drug store. When he finally saw her coming out of the store, she was already furiously scratching out on the paper.

"Ranma," she stated, while never taking her attention away from the note-pad, "Carry me to your Mom's, and go as fast as you can!"

Grinning evilly, Ranma asked, "Gonna' pay the taxi-fare, lady?"

"Really?" Nabiki began, "you owe me Saotome, let's see. OH! waitaminuetyouwantanotherkiss!"

"I'm sorry 'biki-chan, I don' wanna' have anyone see me do that! What-are-ya-doin???!!!?

"Waiting on you to pick me up," Nabiki blinked, "today, Saotome."

"Sorry."

Nabiki was trying to put the sight of buildings flashing by out of her mind, as she scribbled the names of stocks to move. Lands, bonds, and other solid investments that could save her families income. She specifically avoided the idea of betting on any sporting events, as she felt that whatever happened to time may affect things of a random nature.

As they approached the home of Nodoka, Nabiki was busy scribbling down some of the successful, and not-so-successful, training things performed by Ranma and his Dad. Well, to the best of her ability anyway.

She could feel more and more like a child with every minute that passed, and could only hope she could convince Ranma's mom of what needed to be done--before it was too late.

"This is it, 'biki-chan," she heard Ranma say.

Leaning close to Ranma's ear, Nabiki gave Ranma something to chew on, "if you ever call me that in public, I'll own your grandchildren, Saotome."

Satisfied with the "eep" answer, Nabiki added, "You can, however, get away with it in private, pony-chan."

G A C K
