From his new fortress, Claudus watched eagerly as the new were army began to steamroll over the populace and National Guard in New York City. He had to give credit to Xian Pu for orchestrating this, first by infecting the NYPD and then just sitting back and letting the army build itself like a perfect pyramid scheme. Subiltly altering the scrying spell, he glanced at the other divisions, already advancing on Times Square, Rockfeller Center, the Mayor's Office and the Jeresy tunnel, while taking care not damage any of the major buildings under his orders. He had caught up a little bit on recent Earth history and knew the last thing he would want would be to provoke a reaction similar to the United State's response to the September 11 terrorist attacks. Changing the view once again, Claudus scowled as he saw an entire division of armed SWAT troopers being held back.
BY ONE MAN?!
"Who the hell?" the Nosune swore as he zoomed in on the human; a silver haired man wearing a red leather trench coat with a large broadsword on his back and two heavy pistols, one black and the other white. But what really got Claudus' attention was the look on the man's face, a self serving smirk that he himself usually wore when facing overwealming odds, and knowing he was going to win.
"Come and get it." Dante Sparda smugly said to the collection of werebeats as he geustred with Ivory. The fact that they were currently possessed made things a bit difficult, but the devil hunter knew a good deal about weres and their constution, having to take down a few himself. Almost accecpting the invtation, several of the changed police officers charged straight at him, claws bared to spread the infection.
Unfortunally, they didn't know that Lycanthropy had no effect on someone who already had demonic blood. Rolling out of the way, Dante started blasting away with Ebony and Ivory, taking down several of the weres as he willed on Ifrit's guantlets. "MAGMA DRIVER!" he shouted as he caught several werecats in a powerfull upercut sheathed in hellfire. "KICK 13!" this time sending another were flying back with a firey snap-kick into his comrades. "Next." he calmly said as he swaped over to Alastor, giving the broad sword a few practice swings before charging into the still standing weres.
Claudus could only stare in amazement as the human charged into the mob of forces before changing into a winged demon. Make that a winged demon who could throw lightning bolts. As he watched the rout with a growing rage, he rembered the old legends about the infamous demon Sparda, once the greatest solider in the Undead Realm's army who then sided with the humans and defeated the Dark Emperor Mundus. To the humans and inhabitans of the Jade realm, he became a legend and to demons and those like himself their version of the boogieman. But this mortal...no, it COULDN'T BE! But a further scanning spell revealed that it was. "JADEITE!!!!!!!!!!!!" he roared.
"Yes, Lord Claudus?" Jadeite asked, wondering what had gone wrong this time, and who pass the buck off to.
"Where are the rest of our generals?"
"Taro and Kuno are busy laying seige on Jersuleum, Mus Tu and Ryoga with the Musk and Phoenix people, Gemma, Soun, Kuno Sr. and Gosunkugi are in Japan, leaving Ryuu, Sasuke, myself, and a few new recruits."
"Get them together and get your fuzzy butts down to New York. Tell them that I will give the country of their chosing to whoever brings me the head of the Son of Sparda!"
"Your will be done, my Lord." Jadeite replyed with a mock bow as he headed out on his new assigment, happy he wasn't being punished, but not that he was going up aginst the son of the Legendary Dark Knight.
