"Misato was wearing purple. I hope this works," Shinji muttered to himself, as he rubbed the gem.
Lavender smoke poured from the gem and resolved itself in the form of Misato. Misato kneeld before Shinji and stood up. The movement looked reflexive.
"Wh-wha's going on?" Misato asked. "One moment, I'm listening to Asuka start something. The next, I'm in some strange area."
Shinji cringed, as he stared at the ring. "I think that you, Rei, and Asuka have been turned into genies."
Misato laughed. "Right, Shinji. Prove it to me."
Shinji sighed and reubbed the sapphire of his ring. This time blue smoke came pouring out and formed itself into Rei. Shinji looked at the kitchen and decided to drive the point homw.
"Misato, I wish that you would clean up the kitchen>'
Misato got a strange look on her face, as she robotically went into the kitchen and started cleaning the place up. After a few seconds, Misato looked at her costume and then at the mess. She blinked and the place became spotless.
Looking at Shinji, Misato said, "Okay. I beleive you now."
Shinji took a deep breath and said, "The two of you are going to have to hold onto Asuka. I don't think she's going to like this much."
Rei looked back and forth between Misato and Shinji confused. "Like what?"
Misato grimaced, as she stood next to Rei. "I think you'll find out when Asuka arrives."
Shinji quickly rubbed the ruby of his ring, before he changed his mind. Crimson smoke billowed forth and when the smoke faded Asuka was standing there with an expresion on her face looking half horrified and half angry.
"What in God's name is going on?" Asuka demanded.
Before sh could grab Shinji, Misato and Rei had grabbed either arm and held onto her.
Shinji said, "Somehow, you were turned into a genies. I have no idea why you went into my ring."
Shinji explained that he bought the costumes as a set and that he had recieved the ring as a promotional gimick. Asuka fumed, trying to figure out if it was Shinji's fault.
Shinji finished up. "I guess all we can do is not let anyone else know and pretend this didn't happen."
Rei spoke up. "While you were talking. I felt a bit more knowledge being given to me. We have to return to our gems at least once a week to recharge."
Asuka's shoulders slumped, as she whispered to herself, "Great. I'm the magical obdient slave of Shinji. I didn't ask for this."
Shinji flinched, as he started talking, "I guess we should go ahead with this as our Cosplay at the School's party."
Misato nodded, "Just pretend like it never happened, while we're there."
"Since it's late, Rei would have probably stayed over anyway," Shinji said. "I think the three of you should get used to your new homes. Girls, return to your gems."
The genies once again stiffened up, turned into smoke, and flowed back into the gems. Shinji sweated, as he looked at the ring.
"What am I supposed to do now?"
