"What is his gate?" Setsuna muttered to herself as she looked into Ranma's past. He never seemed to open it, and yet. . . Then she saw the eight year old Ranma opening his gate for the first time. "The gate of Chaos." Setsuna said with a fatalistic sigh as she looked more closely at the pigtailed boy.
Though there had been signs of Ranma's potential when his father had started on the trip, it was a few years before the boy had managed to open his gate. Unfortunately after destroying the invader amalgam, the energy unleashed had proceeded to expand and bring forth a small hurricane. Three years of intensive training later Ranma had opened the gate again to drive back one of the invader generals. This time the power had caused him and the two other gatekeepers nearby to change gender for a week.
"No wonder he doesn't use it." Setsuna commented. Then she frowned as she looked closer.
While Ranma was rightfully nervous about fully opening his gate, it was not a gate that could ever be fully closed. And over the years Ranma had trained very hard to master the chaos energy that constantly seeped out. His strength, his speed, his intuition were all enhanced dramatically. He could also manifest a variety of small 'tricks.'
However as Setsuna looked at Ranma's life, she quickly realized that a great deal of the chaos still escaped uncontrolled. That was why everyone in that Chinese village he had visited had realized it was the right time to propose and get married. That was why one Casino he visited had gone bankrupt from a sudden string of victories. "That's why destiny bends in his presence." Setsuna said quietly.
