Shadow Cat narrowed his eyes as he looked at Urd. Her smug expression urking him. Glancing at the cards in his hand one more time, he returned his gaze to his opponent.
"Alright, I'll see your raise and I call."
Shadow Cat put down his hand revealing three jacks, a three, and a four.
"Ha. Three of a kind."
Mondhound grumbled as he tossed his cards down. He had a pair of threes.
Urd pouted playfully before lowering her cards. "All I've got is two pair.... Two pairs of queens though.. Ha! Eat that furball. "
His right eye twitching Shadow turned to the fourth of their group. "All right Mr. Priest, what do you have?"
"Um, all I have is this." Nervously the Redpriest of the 17th Order layed his cards on the table.
"Urk.." Urd stopped her celebrating as she got a good look at the cards. And promptly sat back in her seat, glaring at the author.
"Thud." Shadow Cat dropped his head on the table. Before he started laughing.
Mondhound raised in eyebrow and nodded his head grudglingly. "A royal straight flush... Impressive. Mr. Priest, it looks like you win this round too."
"I win again?"
"He's cheating he's gotta be!"
"The only one who's cheated so far Urd, was you."
"I've heard of beginners luck but the last five hands have been amazing... I mean what are the chances of drawing 4 Aces, or a flush, or a high straight, or a full house, and now a Royal Straight Flush in your first game of poker?"
"Can I go home now?"
"NO!!!"
Sitting back down Urd and Shadow Cat compsed themselves from the sudden twin outburst. Mondhound peered over the table at Redpriest who was currently lying on his back.
Adjusting his hat Shadow Cat gave Redpriest a sidelong glance. "What I mean Mr. Priest, is that we would like to win back some of our belongings before you leave. So if you would retake your seat, we can continue this game."
Urd slammed the deck of cards in front of Mondhound. "Your deal, Fido."
"I just want to go home."
"Oh, be a sport and give us a chance to win back our stuf, Mr Priest. How about I make a deal with you. If you win tonights game. Meaning that you've acquired the most stuff I'll drop you off in a GD universe. What do ya say to that?"
"Really? You mean that, Shadow Cat?"
"Sure. But only if you win. If you lose....."
"I get the picture. Deal me my cards, please."
