Ami snarled as she tore the communicater off her wrist and slammed it into the ground before grounding it to scrap under her foot. She really didn't care about destroying it, given that either she or Gina could probably rebuild it in short order. She just didn't want any further interruption from people that didn't understand what she was feeling right now.
For nearly all her life she had felt that fate was perminately giving her the finger, giving her hope before taking it away from her. First was the seperation between her parents for reasons she now knew were complete bullshit, then discovering that in the joy of becomming a senshi meant completely abandoning her dreams of becomming a doctor, not to mention following a klutz with a bad hairstyle that couldn't fight her way out of a wet paper bag. Then, two days ago she discovered her heritage and was reunited with her father who had been in hiding for over 10 years. Those two days had been nothing short of the happiest and most cherished moments of her life.
Which were once again snatched from her by that fucking bastard Gothwrain, because he couldn't stand somebody that he saw as a threat despite how he wanted nothing to do with him. He had in that one night taken her father and a bit of her innocence with her, leaving only a few precious memories and a burning rage for revenge. After watching her father die in her arms and passing on his powers to her, Ami had sworn a blood feud with the wererat clan leader and after getting several volumes on magic from Dr. Diggers and a saftey deposit box her father kept under her name as insurance, she immedately left the others to train in her fully awakened powers and plan, subconsiously channling her senshi element of ice to a point that had Ranma been present, he would have considered Ami's state to be the Soul of Aboslute Zero.
In the time she had been out here, she threw herself into her training, memorizing and practicing spells not only of sealing and those alligned with her element of water and ice, but in numerous attack spells of other elements and affiliations. Right now, she knew nearly sixty spells that could kill not just a human, but a lycanthrope as well, with ten of them being banned outright due to how outright cruel they were to the target, not that she cared.
Magic wasn't the only thing she trained in. In her focus on her vendedta, she saw for the first time just how outright idiotic her fights as Salior Mercury had been; giving away any element of surprise with corny speeches that left them wide open, not to mention how the uniforms were the stuff of wet dreams, no stratgey whatsoever with a basic "stand and deliver" approch that made them easy targets, overrelying on magic while letting any other skills slide, having a complete baka on hand as help who did nothing but show up at the most convinent moment with equaly corny sayings and no fire support when needed, and never just basting the bad guy with a surefire kill which would have saved them a lot of time and grief. The only way they had been winning so far was a mix of their magic, namely the Ginzuishou, and sheer dumb luck.
So to help offset this, she also focused equal attention on combat skills. This included training in using guns and other modren weapons were were so graciously "donated" to her by a rather unlucky Yakuza gang along with a good bit of ammo of both the full metal jacket and silver varities, and a number of martial arts. While Ranma, Julia Diggers, and Ku Lon were more than willing to help in that aspect, she couldn't spend years training and learing when she needed it now. Fortunally, with a bit of inspiration from the gaijin movie "The Matrix" she made use of comprehension spells to directly learn the styles straight from their manuals, letting her quickly become an advanced student in Kempo, Amazon Wu Shu, and the arial combat style of Satomone Anything Goes, though forgoing the training in ki attacks in favor of magic, along with the more unscruplous parts of Anything Goes. Skill wise, this put her on a level slightly above Ukyou but still below Xian Pu, Ryogua, Ku Lon, Happoisi, Armaster Julia and Ranma.
However the real good stuff on close combat and weapon styles came when she discovered that in the Mercury Computer's data on the Silver Milenum included several styles that were though to be long gone and were legend makers back in the early years of the Meiji, along with the ability to download them directly into her brain. Now, Ami was also learning the Hiten Misurugi Ryu made infamous by the Hirokiri Battosai, and the sword style of Saitoh, the Wolf of Miburo.
Still, Ami pushed herself even harder, spending from dawn to dusk training, alternating between magic, stratgic planning, martial arts katas both with and without weapons and target practice in both her human and hybrid forms, barely taking a break with her rage enough to keep her going. Even now, her apperence reflected her harsh regimine. Gone was some of the lingering baby fat and in its place was growing definition of well defined muscle which became more apparent in her hybrid form. Her eyes also reflected her new personality, becoming like cold chips of ice, with the occasional flicker of gold in her irisis. Her speed and stregth had also grown with the training in Hiten Misurugi and Amazon Wu Shu to the point where her normal form can keep match with her old, fully human senshi form. With weapons she could be accurate for up to 75 yards and was steadly getting better. As with magic...
Ami turned her attention to a training dummy dressed up as Gothwrain as she opend herself up to the etherial stream, feeling the raw surge of mana in her blood as she jestured and invoked the spell.
"ICE COFFIN REVISED!" she shouted as she watched the spell take effect, forming shards of ice with the dummy that quickly stabbed out in numerous parts of the body. If were a living being, it would obviously led to a slow and painful death. For Ami, it was perfectly fast enough.
May Kami-sama have mercy upon Gothwrain and anyone of his lackies that got in Ami's way...
For she would have none.
