At the head of the table was a young blond man is a stained white lab coat.
"Okay people, as you all knew, I just blatantly lied to our captain, and bought us some time. I know we're in deep trouble. Now I want to know EXACTLY what the damage is."
A small young girl with spotted blond hair and pointed ears perked up. "Selen will go first Terris... Selen checked the hyperdrives. Hyperdrives are Crazy!"
This caused the other five to sweat drops. "That’s nice Selen. Could you perhaps tell us why the hyperdrives are crazy?" Terris, the first on who spoke, asked.
"UM!" Selen exclaimed and she gave a vigorous nod. "Hyperdrives say the universe is wrong. That the gravity constant has increased by a factor of 1.12753. Say that we are inside the heart of Sirius B." Selen grinned, then made a gesture of something exploding with her hands. "Put one in test mode. Went BOOM!!! Selen even checked the spares. They crazy to. Think it might be hardware."
"Okay... Skotty. How about you go next?"
A small leprechaun stood up from a miniature chair that was on the table’s top. "Ay. The primary reactor is fine. But the primary coolant pump has ruptured. The secondaries are fine, so as long as we don't put too much strain on her, she'll be fine... But I really need to take her offline for a month or two to replace the pump. Preferably in dock. I have also competed a check on the primary drives, and they are fully functional, though several of the safeties were tripped."
"*Sigh* I'll see what I can do. Who wants to go next?"
The largest of the six, sitting opposite from Selen, cleared his throat. "I'll go.." He said, raising his large bulky hand. "Not that there is much to report."
"Okay. Go ahead Kowin" he said, nodding toward the ogre.
"Well, other then some of the Beam Crystals being fractured, and Missile Magazine Six vanishing along with the Multi-phasic Drive, all weapon systems are functional." Kowin smiled and shook his head. "And those weapon systems that are down will be operational by the end of the day."
Terris nodded, then turned to a small potted palm tree in the corner of the room. "Speaking of the Multi-phasic Drive, any clue on what happened to it Nitira?"
The head of a greenskinned girl poked out of the palm tree. "It was the conduit for our temporal displacement as I suspected before. Either due a malfunction within the drive it’s self, or a spell cast upon the drive by an outside force. I highly suspect the latter, due to certain magical traces I have found throughout the ship." Nitira sighed, then waved a hand toward the table, causing the image of the moon to appear over it. It quickly zoomed in upon three craters, one of them slightly larger then the other two. "I have also located two of the drives, along with the remains of the third. Though we may have a problem recovering them. All three are about a mile beneath the Moon’s surface, and seemed to have impacted the Lunar surface at high speed."
Everyone else winced. "Yes that could be a problem. Thank you Nitira. Well, Quina, you’re last up." Terris said as he shook his head, then turned to the sixth member of the group, a brown haired, middle-aged man.
"Well, I went through the emergency systems and life support. The life support is fully functional and the emergency systems appear fully functional. I also checked the rigging and Tylison Lightsails. It suffered no damage from the incident, but only about 4/5th's of it are usable, as the rest have degraded due to lack of maintenance."
"That's good. At least we have ONE means of achieving FTL working. But the captain is still not going to be pleased." Terris smirked and shook his head as he stood up. "I'll go tell him the true status report. You go and begin repairs. Everyone is dismissed."
