Setsuna's Fault: World War III [Episode 40273]

Time was full of little ironies.

Take a teenie tiny little influenza virus that started in a place called Haskell County Kansas. It spread to a place called Camp Funston which caused the virus to be spread during something that at that time was called the Great War. When it went overseas it finally adapted fully to the new host (humans) and became a disease with a fatality rate of between 10 and 30 percent. It infected a US President during the Armistice and caused (as infrequently happens with influenza - but does happen according to some JAMA articles) some mental effects due to effects on the nervous system.

Wilson's opposition to Clemenceau's terms on the Armistice were dropped and those terms became something another individual would use to catapult himself into power much later, and begin World War II (or the Second Great War) a few decades later. Thus a microscale virus could cause events to shift on a much larger scale.1

So it was that an incalculable little nudge caused World War III to occur prior to the Senshi awakening to their powers.
