It didn't matter to her. Now that the curse would be permanent, she would be stuck in a form not her own. She would forever be a girl. "What the Hell am I supposed ta do with that?" she half snarled.
"Wear it," said the wizard affably, "It might prove to be of great benefit to you."
It was slipped around her neck and she was suffled out before she knew what was happening. "What the heck's goin' on?!"
"Things aren't always the way they seem child," the wizard told her, "And events may not turn out the way you expect."
"Just what does that mean?!"
"You will find out," said the shopkeeper and shut the door.
The redhead stared at the closed door and couldn't help but feel more than a little lost. She was stuck in a form she hadn't been born with and the only thing that she had gotten was that stupid medallion. For a moment, she felt like throwing it away, but for some reason, she tucked it under her shirt and began walking.
Where to go was the important thing. She just didn't know. Usually she had some kind of target when this sort of thing happened, but attacking the storekeeper did not seem like a good idea. So she just walked, and as darkness began to fall she found herself:
