Different Tendos: Different arrival [Episode 40693]

by Kestral

Rainy day in March, 1991. Same.

Trip to China. Visit to Jusenkyo. Same.

Flee China to escape Shampoo's Vengeance. Same.

Girl opening door to see a panda carrying a redheaded girl.

"Ahhhh! Skuld BOMB!"

K-BOOM!

Okay, that was different.

"Oops."

Ranma looked around at the odd household and tried to figure out what was going on here.

"So what about my old friend Soun?" asked Genma.

"Oh, he gave up the martial arts and planned on taking his wife to America where they have expensive medical care but some of the best medical treatment," said the "Okinawan" looking one. At least she had the tan but the white hair was kinda different. "He needed money though and made this deal at a shrine. He'd sell everything he had in order to get enough money to do this plan. So he did - he sold the dojo, his School of Martial Arts, the house, the arrangement with the Saotome family, quite a few things. All itemized. One of Father's friends picked up the lot in order to grant Soun's heartfelt wish. It's really turned out for the best in some respects."

"Soun gave up the Art after all we went through?!" Genma was flabbergasted.

"Well, it wasn't like he was really practicing anymore," pointed out the older girl. "Since then he's gone on to own a Japanese restaurant in Topeka."

"He sold the engagement?" Genma asked.

"Yes, and all of his daughters are currently in relationships, isn't that nice?" asked the middle daughter with a smile that literally banished the rainclouds and started bluebirds chirping in the backyard.

"So there's no engagement?" said Ranma, cheering up enormously.

"No, it's been transferred," said the eighteen year old "Okinawan" girl.
