Of course, he was heard, and a fight ensued, or at least a reasonable facisimile of a fight followed immediately by Ranma giving a rather crude set of instructions to the irritant and then dancing off singing again.

One might wonder why the Wizard hadn't merely given Ranma some sort of cure that worked but could later backfire in some form or fashion. After all, it would only take about a day, even less, of Ranma shouting "never gonna be a girl again" before all the other cursed people ended up charging toward his store.
Well it was simply because of the fact that the Wizard, while possessed of a cruelly wicked sense of humor, mostly seemed to limit his targets...that is customers...to people that deserved what they were going to get. Not like that Needful Things rival of his where basically good people were turned into little monsters.
At any rate. The Wizard hadn't felt like giving Ranma something that the young martial artist was sure to screw up later. He had no interest in further piling misfortune on the back of the poor boy. He may have been a macho jerk, but he was also a long-time victim of mental, emotional and physical abuse.
However, the boy did have connections to a number of people that did fit the bill for individuals that the wizard liked to see...served.
And as the bell over the door tinkled...
