"What on Earth are you two laughing about?" Hermione demanded. "Haven't you heard?"
"Don't bring him in here!" Ron shouted at about the same time Harry responded to her question with "Heard about what?"
Hermione deposited the cat on to an empty bed and ignored Ron's protest as she got onto the news.
"Sirius Black was here last night!" Hermione said. "He tried to kill Hecate in the halls. She only got away because Argus Filch happened by."
"Can we have the bad news later?" Ron asked hopefully. "We're still opening presents here."
Hermione looked to see the presents and gasped at what lay there among them.
"Who sent you that?!" Hermione gasped, pointing to the Firebolt.
"No idea," Harry said. "There wasn't a card or anything with it."
Hermione's face suddenly turned pale and nervous.
"Harry, you should take that broom to Professor McGonagall," Hermione said.
"What, why?" Ron demanded.
"Don't you see?!" Hermione asked. "Sirius Black was here last night. He tried for Kodachi and set a trap for..."
But neither boy heard her words were lost as her cat sprang at Ron's chest and he shouted in response.
