Upon first glance of the mask he thought it was made of bronze (or was that brass?) but it felt too light for that, much too light. Held up to the light he could see that the perfectly smooth metal had smal puncture marks and scratches that were just barely visible in the reflected sunlight, otherwise they were invisible. Just below the 'chin' of the mask he could see a series of small holes that may have been for breathing, beyond that he saw the 'nose' of the mask and notted how it didn't have any holes for regular breathing, filing that bit of info away for now his gaze traveled to the part of the mask that seemed to tug at his mind the most. The 'eyes' of the mask were black as deepest night, even with the sunlight beating down upon those dark lenses(?) he couldn't see through them.
Curiousity about the mask warred with his suspicion of anything strange that just happened to suddenly and unexpectedly appear in his life. But curiousity and......something else.....won out in the end as he turned the mask over. The back of the mask looked like hard plastic but he could feel some give to the material as well as a unusual cool feel to it as if the suns warmth would never effect it. Finding no straps he opted for just pressing the mask to his face, immediately he felt a slight pulling at the skin of his cheeks and forehead but that was only noticed in a dim peripheral manner as he looked all around him. Through the lenses(?) of the mask everything around him appeared either red or blue with various shades in between.
The mask was proportioned for a human face. And after replaying that thought several more times he wondered why he would note that. What else could the mask be proportioned for anyways but a human face? And odder yet it felt....natural.....to wear the mask and see everything in these odd colors.
