In Decatur, Theo was leisurely sorting through the day's mail. "Bill, bill, Julia's Pointy Ouchy Things Monthly, letter from Nodoka Saotome, bill, coupon for a day spa at Madam Jimbo's House of Pancakes. No, nothing very interesting. Wait a moment, letter from Nodoka?"
Opening the envelope, he began reading.
Dear Theodore,
I apologize for this; however, circumstances in my son's life have forced me to reveal certain facts to both you, and him. To be blunt, you are the father of my son. He has been trapped in a maze of conflicting honor obligations by my husband, and sending him to you is the only way to allow him to escape that does not involve the death of at least one person. Our son's name is Ranma, and the enclosed photographs are of him. Please Theo, accept our son into your home, allow him peace. Be the parent I could not be for him. He’s coming next week.
Nodoka
Collapsing onto the couch, he numbly removed a pair of photos. The first was of a handsome teenager with a cocky grin on his face. Except for his black hair and startlingly blue eyes, he looked like a male version of Nodoka. The other picture was somewhat puzzling, it was of a girl, who except for her hair color (red) and complexion (slightly darker) looked identical to Gina.
Julia walked into the living room and picked up her Pointy Ouchy Things Monthly. Flipping through it, she started reading an article about the swords used in the Lord of the Rings movies, when she noticed Theo looking blankly at the letter and photos in his hands. “What’s that, dear?”
“It’s a letter from a my ex-lover. She’s sending our illegitimate son to live with me. He’ll be here next week.”
Looking at the photos of Anduril, Julia was muttering about never being able to get a decent decapitation from such shoddy workmanship. “That’s nic… WHAT?”
Considering his options very carefully, Doctor Theodore Diggers, Archmage, Adventurer, and Retired Government Troubleshooter, took only clear course of action. He fainted.
