"Don't 'hi' me," growled the youngest Tendo, "I heard what that woman said to you."

"It was just a mistake! Honest!"

"Oh really? If that's true, then what's that under your arm?"

"A gift?"

"Exactly!"

"Oh man..."

"So, care to explain this one?"

Ranma gave a sickly smile as he tried to figure out a way to get out of his mess. There was many a thing that he could try, but he could not be sure that they would work.

It was the way that his life worked. Just try and do something nice, and get into trouble for it.

Sighing, he looked straight at her and:

• got her to see what was really going on.
• fumbled his explination.
• decided that this might be time that retreating might be a good idea.
• ... watched as someone else came into the picture.
• ... groaned as things quickly went into the toilet.
• did something else.
