With a sigh, Ami Mizuno looked around her room once again as
she ran a hand through her hair.
Taking a mental tally of all of her personal possetions...what she would need, what she could live without,
what she would leave behind...
It was a hard decission to leave Juuban...to leave behind her mother, her school, her friends, the other Senshi; but she
felt that she had no choice. She couldn't stay around everyone and everything she cared about, no...not when she was
such a danger to them all.
It all started before she first enrolled in Juuban Middle School; the same school where she first met Usagi; when
her problems began. "Offically" the reason she transfered there was because of there juku. This was true in
part, however before here transfer went through something happened to her.
Later, after everything was over, her mother took her off to the side and explained to her the truth about
what happened, the truth about her heritage, the truth about...her father.
Her mother had explained that she had met him after what was apparently a feirce battle. Being a doctor, she couldn't
just leave him there to die, so she nursed him back to health. Despite what everyone said about him, her mother grew
to love him and...well, things happened. Eventually, he regained his health and left, never knowing of the life growing
within her mothers womb.
After learning about who her father was, Ami searched exaustivly until she uncovered everything she could about her
father and his condition...a condition that she also shared. She also aggreed with her mother about not contacting
her father, he had enough problems as it was and few people would even beleave that there was a kind and careing
person deep inside him.
So Ami did what she felt was nesscary. She found a way to 'release' her power in a
nondistructive way. She threw herself into her studies...after all, she felt she was above such a level.
She wasn't an animal, she was a Human Being.
Then...she fell in with Usagi and became Sailor Mercuary. For the longest time, she was able to push
back the powers of her heritage; must likely; she flet; because of her being a Senshi.
Infact there was only one instance since she had become a Senshi that she lost the war within her.
Fortuanly, none of the others knew about it...and most likely would never know. It was durning the battle at
D-Point while fighting Beryle. The others had gone ahead, leaving her behind. Feeling the exaustion from helping
to open the way for the others, Ami saw a score of Youma approching. Knowing full well what would happen to the
others if the Youma attacked them from behind, she gathered all of her strength to try to hold them
back. That's when she felt 'it'.
The Power.
It felt so...sweet. So...primal.
She only remembered small bits and pieces of what happened before exaustion and finally death over came her. All
she knew for sure was that she had distroyed all of the Youma...
And that a part of her enjoyed it.
Since then, she had strived to keep her power in check. To never again let it control her like it
did that day. And she had succeaded. Of course, there were times that the power would begin to build up
within her and she would have to 'bleed' it off like she was a capasator. But she would do whatever it
took to be 'normal'. Well, as normal as she could be with friends like Usagi and Minako and Makoto and Rei...
Rei...she suppected something. That much Ami was sure of. When ever she felt her power begin to build up within
her, she would notice that Rei would occationly look at her funny; like she was seeing something about her that wasn't right.
But lately, Ami was loosing the war within her. She had almost succombed to the sweet call of her
power several times. She was beginning to get desprate. Logically, Ami knew that she would soon loose herself and release
her power...with distructive consenquences.
She realised that she had only one choice. She had to fully learn about her
powers and master them. Before they mastered her.
So, she had packed her belongings and used what information she could find to plan her itenerarry. With
one last look of longing at the note she had left her mother, she left her home with one goal in mind.
I have to find him...
I have to find my father...
I have to find...
