It would have smiled, if it had the ability to do so. His second 'child' had taken to host Lydia with no trouble. Conferring information with Ranma's subconscious, it believed the changes were for the better.
It did not share the information concerning the subtle.. manipulations of the other Symbiots in regards to breeding. It had made that mistake once, and the horror his subconscious unleashed will forever be known as 'Nightmare'
In the mean time, it continued to monitor Ranma for any signs of trouble concerning the assimilation, taking the time to subtly implant knowledge such as 'You have always had this ability.' and 'You just never use it, thinking it unfair to you're inferiors.' and 'This is how you do this'
Ranma's mind accepted this information as fact and simply filed it away for later use. Right now he was enjoying a run through the forests, testing his form.
The advanced rat approached its target slowly, his itty bitty claws making no sound as he stalked its target.
Slowly and with methodical actions the rat planned it's path. When the time was right.. it.. ATTACKED!
Leaping from its spot with speed never before granted to a memeber of its race, the rat clamped it's jaw around it's target quickly, moving off before the trap the humans had set could be sprung.
A loud snap echoed in the dim lighted room, the rat freezing as if waiting for a reaction. Moments passed, yet no one came to check on the sound.
The rat chortled, a strange coughing sound since it lacked the ability to simulate a human laugh, as it ate the cheese. Psah! It thought, these humans get stupider every day! Those traps aren't even worth my time!
The Symbiot within the rat monitored host as it approached it's target, finding it's tactics of 'Search and capture' interesting, something the 'One' would enjoy immensly. After host completed the attack, it stored information away until it could transfer it to main symbiot.
The core symbiot within Ranma, known to the R-Symbiot(Rat Symbiot) as the 'One', would have been stunned to learn that, while his 'children' were subservant to it, they were like spoiled children in a way. Always vying for the attention of the First, seeking to out do the other children in.
R-Symbiot stopped as new information was relayed via the developing telepathic powers withing the main's host - It wasn't powerful, and in effect it only allowed transmission through an arbituary power source known as 'Etheral Stream' which the 'One' had determined ran throughout real space. Interesting.
R-Symbiot would have blinked when information of L-Symbiot (Lydia Symbiot) was transfered to it, if only it had eye lids. Sorting through the information took but a few moments. The 'One' considered L-Symbiot superior than his First-Child!
R-Symbiot felt something as he digested that.
Query: What is this feeling? Searching through information provided via the 'One' it found out what it now felt.
Jealousy.
Query: Proper response for Jealous child.
Informtion streamed in via the 'One'. It was fortunate for Lydia that Ranma was the original host, now however it was unfortunate.
The main's host has dealt with varying forms of Jealousy in the past, it always dealing with the fight and generally over something he had that others did not have.
Comparison: L-Symbiot has One's favor. R-symbiot does not. L-Symbiot has ability to mate with One's host. Current form and mental analysis of One's host leads it to believe that R-Symbiot does not.
Conclusion: R-Symbiot must find way to gain One's favor, must find way to gain ability to breed with One's host, must do all in power to stop L-Symbiot from achieving such goals.
R-Symbiot would fight!
Heaven help the One and it's host.
Lydia groaned as consciousness restored itself. She did not give a painful groan as some one who had been hurt previously, and was only recovering, but a groan of relief. Relief of past pains now gone.
Her vision cleared slowly, and she found herself alone with Moisha, Gothwrain and Romeo no were to be seen. "What the *#.." she shook her head before finishing her statement, some how knowing that such a question would be.. frowned upon. "What happened?"
Moisha nearly cheered when Lydia regained consciousness, blinking curiously when Lydia failed to answer in her usual.. lively speech. "Uh.. you like, passed out, when that cute boy, like, ran out of here."
Lydia nodded, her mind lost on memories of past.. instances concerning her behavior. Why was she becoming introspective now all of a sudden? Shaking her head, she tuned Moisha back in, "What happened to Ranma?"
Moisha blinked, looking very confused at the question, "Like, who's Ranma?"
"Uh.. the boy.. man that ran out of here." Lydia responded slowly, a slight rosy pink appearing as she figured out what to call him. He certainly was.. manly, Lydia guessed. Which was odd, since she never really felt like... this.. about anyone.
Moisha shrugged, figuring the boy said his name while she was unconscious, "Well, like, Gothwrain told Romeo to, like, track him, ya know? Gothwrain got upset about somethin, so like, he left to do some, like, book stuff."
Gothwrain. The name filled Lydia with feelings.. she was very well use to. That being anger, hate, and no small dose of fear. Lydia closed her eyes, trying to think this through. In the past she never felt anger.. or hate towards the Elder, but instead fear and an overbearing desire to.. submit to his requests. Even when she thought of him those feelings were there, yet now.. they weren't.
"Moisha.. I.. can .." She almost stuttered, as if asking for a favor was something she never did before, "Can I please be alone for a minute? I have some shit' let it be known that while Lydia is a much better person at the moment, cuss words were almost engrained into the woman by this time'.. to think about."
Moisha smiled stupidly, "Like, okay. I'll go get some food, or like, something."
While Moisha was gone, and Lydia was focused on her inner thoughts...
L-Symbiot preened under the 'Ones' praise. It was happy, content to service the One.
Lydia, it found, was a quandry. Tough, Like the Ones host, yet now that the out side influence had been seperated, she was soft, almost caring.
It's host was finding this.. strange, and would likely take time to adapt. This was acceptable, so it focused on her memories, disecting them and its meaning as per the host's thoughts of such, sending it's findings to 'The one' when finished using the new communication matrix called, 'Email'(EtheralMail)
Meanwhile...
