Ranma blinked, trying to recover his senses. He was in a dark, misty area that didn't look like someplace he would have landed after crashing through a brick wall. Out of the corner of his eye he could see some sort of arch constructed out of a black metallic substance - iron most likely, but he couldn't be sure in the dim lighting. In the center of the arch was an image of Ryoga crowing about his victory.
Standing off to the side was a young woman with a curvaceous figure and pink hair tied back into two short ponytails. She was dressed a pink and white colored fuku, and seemed to radiate power.
Thankfully, she wasn't hostile. Right now Ranma doubted he'd be able to offer much of a fight to anyone.
"Um, yeah, I'll recover. Where the heck am I?" he asked as he accepted her help to get to his feet.
She smiled a bit. "You're on Pluto, a thousand years in the future," she asserted, "I'm Usa, and I need your help."
Ranma frowned. He was familiar with time travel thanks to the Nanban mirror, so he didn't dismiss her outright. Besides, he recognized the outfit she wore as one of the senshi's, though he didn't know much about them. It wasn't as if he'd paid that much attention to them. Just that they'd made the news once or twice and were popular among the boys of his class. "Um, yeah, sure. What do you need?"
"I need you help rebuilding the world." Usa responded. "A little under twenty years ago, my mother founded the city of Crystal Tokyo, and then purified the world of evil."
Ranma winced. That couldn't possibly be good. He knew there were a lot of people, like Ryoga, who thought he was evil.
Usa nodded, reading Ranma easily. "Yes, it was as bad as you think. Anyone who wouldn't submit to the purification was banished from Earth. Everyone who did was turned into a living zombie. By the time anyone realized what she'd done, she'd been purified herself, and no longer saw anything wrong with what she'd done. Three senshi were stripped of their powers and memories in the short contest of wills that happened after that. The others escaped being purified, but can't go up against mom."
"And you can?"
Usa nodded again. "I was born about four years after all that happened. My mother may have purified herself, so I started out 'purified' as well. Then, when I was, um...," she paused, "I think I was eight, or maybe ten, I forget. Anyway, Crystal Tokyo was attacked by those people we had banished. I got sent back to your time, and came in contact with something called the 'Dark Crystal'?" Usa shook her head frustrated by her foggy memories. "It was a tool being used by our enemies, and I got corrupted. I haven't been purified since, so I can be 'evil', but I'm still my mother's daughter, so unlike the rest of the senshi I can counter her powers."
Ranma nodded. "Okay. So what's the plan?"
"That's up to you. We need to add some chaos to the kingdom; I can do it, but don't know what to do," Usa confessed. "I need your help figuring out the best way to liven things up. All I know is that I have to get the Guardian of this place laid for a week or so."
Ranma blinked and then his eyes widened. "Uh-uh. No way. Not me, I don't want anything to do with that. I got enough problems as it is."
Usa giggled. "I wasn't planning on suggesting that you do it. Besides, I think she needs someone with a lot of experience, and, no offense, but you don't have any." She then sighed, not really wanting to drop the other shoe on him. "And, you don't have any other problems at the moment, Ranma. I picked you up seconds before you were supposed to die. Ryoga's attack would have sent you into a vat of acid; not even you would have survived that. I can't send you back, Ranma."
Ranma digested that for a moment and then sighed. "Can I think about this for a moment?"
