"Really?" Ron asked, surprised. "Well, now there's one in Gryffindor." He said it with an air of pride in his house that Kodachi approved of.
"I'm Hermione Granger," Hermione said, reaching across to shake the other girl's hand. "We didn't get a proper chance to speak on the train before the...creature attacked." Kodachi reached out to grip the hand politely, insuring that her palm was turned down.
"I'm Ron Weasley," Ron said, going right behind Kodachi. "And you'll know Harry of course."
"Yes, he helped me get on the platform,' Kodachi agreed. This was said with such a lack of awe that Ron was confused. Thinkng that Ron was about to comment about his celebrity status, Harry cut in.
"So your family is famous in the world of witchcraft?" Harry asked.
"It would appear so," Kodachi said. "Really, I only recently became aware that such an institute as this existed." Hermione shook her head in frustration at the thought of another witching celebrity that was clueless about her status.
"I know how you feel," Harry said. "My Uncle and aunt never told me about my parents until after Hagrid showed up for my eleventh birthday."
"Family," Kodachi agreed grimly. Hermione noted the slight tensing of her muscles as Kodachi made the agreement.
