Ranma considered his options as he was walking toward the direction Mihoshi pointed.
"Lemme see..no money, no food, no shelter, no one that I know around here. Yup, that sums it up."
He could find a job..any job. But what person would hire a ronin from the street? He couldn't give any referrences if he did get hired. There was also the matter of his curse. If the students of Furinkan think he was a strange one, the people around here would definintely think worse of him. He never gave a damm about what people around him, but he couldn't be a hermit. Not for long anyway. For all the weirdness and trouble that has befallen him, Nerima has given a sense of stability. And now he missed it
What to do, what to do? was the mantra echoing in his head.
When he came out of his fugue state, he spied a hill, with a carved staircase leading up to it and ending in a torii. A temple...Kami-sama knows I need all the help I can get now.
Ranma spied a figure sweeping at the top of the stairs. It was a man, perhaps in his early to mid-20's. White Shinto priest robes, with a blue triangular border. A face that girls in a latter age in Japan would swoon over. The face was framed by long black hair that was tied at the nape dropping to shoulder lenght. The man stopped sweeping when he saw Ranma and gave a firendly smile. The man reminded Ranma of Doctor Tofu. He gave Ranma a bow.
"Welcome traveler. I am the priest of this shrine, Kamahito Kagura."
Ranma remembered to bow back. "Hi. My name is Ranma Saotome. I saw the temple gate and well...is it alright if I go to yer shrine to pray fer a few moments?"
"Of course, Saotome-san. This shrine is open to all those who have need of it. The shrine proper is that way." Kamahito pointed to a building in the middle of a row of buildings."
"Thanks." Ranma started walking off toward the shrine.
A strange young man. His clothing is neither Japanese or Western. His callused hands and gliding walk bepeak that of a fighter. His speech and the words he uses are most strange." mused Kamahito.
A few minutes later, Ranma emerged from the shrine with a troubled expression. He walked up to Kamahito and bowed. "Thanks fer the use of the shrine. See ya." He started to walk off..
"Wait, a moment traveler." "Have you eaten yet?". A growl from Ranma's middle region answered for him. Kamahito smiled. "Let us eat and we can share stories with one another."
Ranma hesistated for a moment, but his stomach decided it for him.
In the course of a good meal, Ranma and Kamahito traded stories. Ranma made the decision...
