The energy ball exploded on Akane like a fireworks display, its force sending her into the air.
When she came down she was in pink cheerleader's costume with red boots and white tassels. A square of cloth, trimmed and studded in black, ran from the middle of her bosom out over her triceps like epaulets and around to the middle of her back.
She caught the giant, white pompoms that fell from out of nowhere as if she had tossed them herself. "YEA!" She cried, striking a pose with one pompom on a hip, the other raised up. "Think what I can do without a ceiling!"
"This isn't one of those transformations that we see on TV, is it?" Kasumi asked. "I mean, you're not going to continue changing like that?"
"Kasumi," Nabiki asked for some common sense from her big sis. "Akane, what just happened?"
"Happened? Nothing but a demonstration how I and the rest of the Furinkan Squad is going to kick the asses of Mariko Konjo and her Seisyun Losers'!" And she kicked up her toes as if aiming at something.
"And what is the sporting event going to be, this time?" Kasumi asked.
"Kasumi, do you have to encourage her?" Nabiki asked.
"I'm just helping the exposition along."
"The event is: Boys! I and my girls have won over those at Furinkan so completely that none of them even want to think about looking at my arch-rival, the Pigtailed Girl!" she boasted.
" "The Pigtailed Girl"?" Nabiki noted.
"Now, I'm taking the team on the road, visiting other high schools! I won't rest until no other cheerleader has a boyfriend, and I'm The A-Number-1, Top Girl!"
"I'm glad to see that you're finally taking an interest in boys," Kasumi said.
