Ranma quickly hauled himself up when the ground started shaking. Noticing the cracks spreading in the ceiling, he quickly hauled Nakahito out of the room, through the corridor and beneath the open window. He turned to Nakahito and said...
"Time for you to go home"
"But.."
"No buts...go back to the temple and tell your brother what happened. If I'm not back by evening, tell to come looking for me."
"What about you?"
"I'm going back. I'm not sure whether the girl is alive or not but I'm not leaving her. And I can't watch you and her at the same time. Up you go!
Ranma grabbed Nakahito and with a heave tossed him up the window sill. Nakahito grabbed the sill and scrabbled out the window. Ranma stared for a moment and ran back the corridor to the room where the girl lay. He leaned down to cradle her when a stronger shock rumbled through the basement, causing Ranma to slip...
And kiss the girl?..doll? on the lips...and a green colored globe the size of a heart started beating...
Ranma dropped her back to the bed in shock...he kissed a girl?
"Her lips were soft..that means..."
The girl slowly stirred and sleepily opened her eyes...she sat up and spoke her first word
"Master?"
She turned to face Ranma and fully opened her eyes. Eyes the color of a cloudy sky faced eyes of the color of a clear blue sky...
"Master"
Eyes the color of a clear blue sky widened even further...
"MASTER!!!"
GLOMP!
Ranma was held in a hug worthy of an Amazon.A giggling amazon. Had Akane been around to witness it, he would had been on a trip to the stratosphere courtesy of Mallet Airways. As it was, his brain had shutdown, and not merely from lack of oxygen. You see, Ranma had never kissed a girl's lips before. The kiss from that jerk Mikado doesn't count because he was girl at the time. Sure, he kissed both Akane and Shampoo, but they don't count either. There was tape between the curtain when they kissed during that Romeo and Juliet fiasco. Shampoo was a cat when he kissed her, so that doesn't count either. Nope, this was the first time he REALLY kissed a girl on the lips...which would explain the mantra going inside his head.

Both the giggling and the mantra stopped when the sound of running footsteps came from a stairwell on the right side of a room...a man in his mid-30's, dressed in a mixture of western and japanese clothes, entered a room and looked at the scene in front of him. The girl rose from the bed and stood to the right and slight in front of Ranma, hanging on to his arm. The man looked to the girl and said..
"Kurumi, how did you get activated?" Great, what else can go wrong Ranma thought.
That was when the ceiling caved in directly above Ranma and Kurumi.
Master! With that cry, Kurumi pulled Ranma close and covered him with her body. Ranma's mind was still wonky, so he allowed himself to be covered. He and Kurumi were swalled up in a pile of dust and large sections of the stone ceiling.
Kurumi! cried the man. When the dust clear, there was a large whole where the basement ceiling used to be. On what would be the ground level, there was a strange mixture of what looked liked a giant robot's arms and upper half of the body connected to a tank chassis. On an observation platform behind the weird tank/mecha stood a woman. She was dressed in black boots, a midi skirt, an Imperial Army jacket and a white lab overcoat. She looked at the man with a stern expression.
Do you think you can escape the Imperial Army, Dr.Ayanokoji?
Dr. Ayanokoji looked up and breathed.."Ayani-kun"
