In the original timeline, it would had been it would had been either Kamahito or Nakahito who would had awakened Kurumi. In the timeless tradition of perversity, a certain pig-tailed martial aritist got to do the dirty deed.

Spiritual energy IS ki. Ranma's ki potential compared to both brothers is like comparing a blast furnace to a torch. Activating a Steel Angel also created a spiritual bond between a Steel angel and her master (or mistress). Maintinaing and creating that link does drain away a person's ki. How much is a matter of conjecture..till now.

The result was...

• No effect...Ranma has ki to spare and more
• Some effect..Ranma still has strenght and speed but his endurance has gone down some.
• Great effect...Ranma is now as week as during the Hiryu Shoten Ha Arc
• Ranma has become a Steel Angel in female form!
• Any combination of the last 4
• Something else
