Normally Ranma would expect something akin to pervert or absolute shock. Curiousity mixed with shock was what could have described the situation in the room. Military types that are akin to hearing Classified material are less likely in general to be in shock, they just hide it better, and they grow used to hearing and seeing things out of the ordinary.
Mao's reaction was mixed with more of curiousity. She was already trying to figure out how she could have fun with this Ranma person. Since Sousuke got boring to pick on after a while.
Sousuke's reaction was more along the lines of how it could be used in a military situation. This would be what he figured the optimal way for a male to protect a female in the girls locker room and be more discreet. Sousuke believes that Ranma was brought here for that specific purpose. Or to show him how to do it so he can better protect Miss Chidori.
Kurtz was needless to say slightly jealous and unhappy that not only Ranma gets to change into a very pretty girl and have all the perk of being able to be one (Full-Body mirror anyone?). Sadly he also realized that the pretty redhead is now off-limits. At this point one could see tears in his eyes.
Tessa being the only one that saw the curse before was able to figure out that cold water was the trigger for the curse and hot water neutralizes it. She said quietly of course "Mr Saotome wasn't always like this, Ranma can you explain how this happened"
Ranma was suprised by the lack of comments of "pervert!" but he remembered the presence of the pervert so he decided to explain it "Well I've been studying martial arts most of my life and studied across China and Japan with my pop..."
Sousuke and Mao believe that Ranma is the hand to hand specialist being added to the team, at this point anyways.
"Problem was neither pop or I could speak chinese but he bought this training manual conveniently enough written in chinese" He added to the last part with a bit of venom in his voice. He continued "about the legendary cursed training grounds of Jusenkyo so ignoring all the over repeated-warnings from the guide that we hired and in the manual we just started training there"
At this point nearly everyone drew their own conclusions on Genma Saotome. Idiot and Gomer Pyle were the ones that came to mind. Gomer Pyle coming from the local US Marine Melissa Mao.
"So now every time I get hit by cold water I turn into a girl" Ranma concluded.
Melissa decides to introduce herself. Since he lacked any rank (at the moment anyways) she said "I'm Melissa Mao and this is..." she nudged Kurtz on the back with the heel of her hand.
Kurtz recovered and giving his superior a glare said "I'm Kurtz Weber"
The pointman of the operation stood up at attention "Sgt Sousuke Sagara" After this the Jindai Mirthril group gave a exasparated sigh.
Tessa decided to intervene before Ranma could figure out what going on or place the Sgt part. "Ranma's an old childhood friend of mine, so you'll be seeing alot of him from now on. He's going to be staying at his mother's house. He's also..." Tessa remembered the recent articles about him in newspapers she does keep track of her friends after all. "A top-notch martial artist so her I mean He can provide his (ahem) services if we need to use them". *********
After Tessa did a good job of tap-dancing around nearly every subject Ranma eventually decided to call it a day and start moving his things from the tendo home to the Jindai Saotome Residence and that (s)he would meet her tomarrow at a local Ice-Cream shop, since he saw one coming in. Later...
