"I live in an apartment complex with a few of my subor..friends, I mean." Tessa picked up the end of her braided ponytail and started playing with it. It's not that far."
"Very nice dear. Ranma, it's getting late. Why don't you escort Tessa-chan to her home. After that, you can grab your things from the Tendo dojo and come back here. I've set aside a room for you here at the house."
"Not a problem, mom"
""There's no need for that Saotome-san. The apartment complex is nearby."
"Tessa-chan, I'm going have to insist. If I don't escort you, Mom is gonna be mad. You don't want your old friend to get trouble, do you?. And it is getting dark."
The refusal was for form's sake anyway. Tessa really wanted to spend more time with her friend. She rose and thanked Nodoka for the tea.
Nodoka reflected as the pair walked out of the gate and into the street that they make a great couple. Such a nice girl she reflected before going back to the house.
"Tessa-chan...?"
"Yes, Ranma-kun?"
"Yer, hiding something, aren't ya?"
Tessa almost stumbled. She stopped.She turned to Ranma and with a cute expression. "What do you mean?"
"Don't give that cute girl look Tessa-chan. you always play with your hair when you're nervous. See, you're doing it again."
She dropped the end of the pony tail quicky. Her face took a sad cast as she replied "Yes, Ranma-kun. There is a secret I'm hiding from you. Quite a few in fact..
"Look, we all have secrets. Even me, Tessa-chan."
"What kind of secrets?"
On cue, one of those mysterious cloudbursts hit them. Tessa found it amazing on later reflection. The sky darkened momentarily, there was a 10 second deluge and then it cleared. And it only rained on Ranma...kun?
In place of a pig tailed girl was a pigtailed girl with red hair. With a few major changes. Ranma's female form had hit a major growth spurt recently. Her face lost most of it's baby fat and she gained a few inches. Her chest size now seemed proportional to her. Give SGM Mao a red wig and change her eye color and she could pass for Ranma-kun..idly noted Tessa..despite the mild shock she felt on seeing her childhood friend change genders.
Ranma sighed. "Let's go to yer apartment and get some hot water. You tell me yer secret and I'll tell you mine."
Tessa smiled. "Okay, Ranma-kun. Despite the gender change, it was still her friend. And the information might prove useful. Divulgng classified information is a no-no. Exchanging classified information, on the other hand, is not as bad. "Do you mind if you tell me and my friends about this. It might save you trouble in future.
Ranma thought about it. He didn't really want to hide his curse from Tessa since it had a way of showing at the worst possible time. but he didn't Tessa to think badly of him,unlike a certain teapot-bashng tomboy. If she reacted very well to this, perhaps might not her friends do so too?
"All right,Tessa-chan. But don't say I didn't warn ya. Some people don't take seeing my curse very well."
Upon reaching the apartment and opening the door, the first person they spied was a woman sitting on a couch. She was wearing a black sleveless, open necked T-shirt, BDU pants and combat boots. She also had a row of beer cans on the table before her.
"We were getting worried. She cast an interested gaze on Ranma. "Who is she, Tessa?"
"I'd rather do this all at once,Mellissa. Can you get Kurt and Sousuke?" Melissa nodded and left the room. Ranma also left the room for the kitchen after given directions by Tessa.
Melissa reentered the living room a few moments later trailed by a black haired guy at Ranma's age followed by a blonde haired guy a few years older. Ranma entered the room a beat behind them and set one cup of cold and one cup of hot water by a window sill.
Introductions where made. The young woman in the camo pants was Melissa Mao. The blond guy was Kurz Weber. The black haired guy with the serious expression was Sousuke Sagara.Suffice it to say that Kurz was wearing a lecherous and goofy expression. Ranma's shirt was damp and his (Her?) breasts were clearly visible through the red sil shirt. Kurt was about to launch into a speech of undying love and fidelity when Tessa cleared her throat.
"We have a few things we need to clear up. Can you go first, Ranma? Ranma cleared her throat. "First of all, I'm Tessa-chan's old friend from childhood. Ranma stood up and went to the window sill, grabbing the 2 cups."And second of all.." Looking at Kurt with a looked that promised pain for him...he poured the cup of hot water over his head. "I'm a guy."
