Ryoga had opened his umbrella when he saw the first raindrops fall. Shortly thereafter, the rain grew in intensity and the lost boy knew that this was turning into a big storm. Cursing his luck (and Ranma, he was always at least partly responsible for every bad thing happening to him), he decided to look for some kind of shelter before he was turned into a pig.
Several minutes later, he found solace in an old cave. The entrance was freshly opened, probably thanks to a landslide caused by the storm. He checked the walls of the cavern, making sure it wasn't in any danger of collapsing. Last time it happened, he would have stayed buried if not for that engineer and the Shishi Hoko Dan technique. Once reassured, he settled in to wait for the sky to clear.
Since the weather didn't show signs of calming down any time soon, he decided to go explore a little. Lighting a torch from his backpack, he went deeper in the cave.
Whatever he expected to find in there, a treasure hoard was not on the list. He was flabbergasted. Him, having a stroke of good luck !? He was rich ! Scratch that, he was beyond rich ! So rich Nabiki Tendo would sell Akane to him ! (One can dream, can't he ?).
Not only that but among the coins and jewels, a particular item retained his attention. Somehow, he was sure he had found what he was seeking for in the first place !
"Eat your heart out, Ranma ! I've found the better present of all for Kasumi-san ! Mwahahahahaha...!" Ryoga laughed evilly then coughed a little, feeling silly all of a sudden. He picked up his gift for Kasumi and went back to the cave's entrance. Shouldering his backpack, he turned to go back to the treasure and take some loot.
Unfortunaely for him, he found himself in a little rural village near Kyoto "WHERE THE HELL AM I NOW !?!" Now he had lost all that treasure. There could be only one explanation "RANMA ! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT !!!"
While Ryoga was lost (again) on Japan's roads, Kasumi's gift was safely tucked in his backpack. He was pretty sure his rival couldn't scrounge enough money to get something nicer than this...
