It was a strange little trinket, that much was certain. Almost eerily lifelike, the diminutive statue stood barely a foot tall, its delicately carved face lifted upwards in what seemed to be a look of entreaty, or perhaps supplication. The level of detail in those features was nothing short of amazing, from the large guileless eyes down to the oversized floppy ears which framed its whiskered face.
The consistency of the statue was equally strange, solid yet unnaturally smooth, almost like petrified wood. That in itself was enough to unnerve the normally fearless young man. Of course, the fact that said statue was warm to the touch certainly didn't do anything to alleviate his concerns.
Still, it was extremely cute, and Ryouga was pretty sure that Kasumi would appreciate it. It just...seemed to fit her somehow. Almost like she was destined for it...
Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Ryouga carefully replaced the statue and shouldered his pack with an audible groan. The damn thing was heavier than it should have been, too. Rising to his feet, Ryouga's nose twitched as his nostrils were inexplicably assailed by an odor that definitely hadn't been present a few minutes ago. Strange...he didn't think that carrots could grow in twelve-foot snowdrifts.
Chocking the matter up to just one more inexplicable occurance in his screwed up life, Ryouga shrugged his shoulders and began plowing through the dense grass that had suddenly sprung up around him, continuing onward in his neverending trek to the Tendo Dojo. It was probably all Ranma's fault anyway. Stupid Ranma. Always wrecking his life...
With his mind clouded with thoughts of anger and revenge, Ryouga completely missed the soft cry that echoed out behind him, its dulcet tones lingering gently in the cool afternoon air.
Miyaaaaahhhhhhhh......
