Of course, Gar, Luan, Carla, Seance, Genn, Asrial, and Tyr were still asleep in the first sub-basement. And not wanting to disturb them meant she had to avoid that level of her lab for the time being.
Still, Gina's lab was five basement floors. She still had a lot of variety of projects she could work with for the time being. And so, Gina had chosen to go to the bottom floor. True, it really was more of a recreation area than a working lab, but it was where Brianna had most of her heavy weapons projects as well. And Gina needed to start investing her time in something to protect herself with, considering all the 'guests' that seemed to be popping up.
And so, Gina was working on a small tazor-like device at the moment... She was trying to make it small enough to fit in the palm of her hand, but making it that small and making sure it still had a powerful enough 'shock' was proving to be a real challenge. "Hmm... The generator seems to be too big, and when I use batteries, it's only good for one, maybe two good shocks... I wonder if I can redesign an electrical generator to be no bigger than the size of a penny..."
So deep in thought was Gina with her work, that she did not realize someone else had come into the room until she felt someone tap her on the shoulder. Gina turned her head around and practically jumped out of her seat. "URIEL!? HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET IN MY LAB AGAIN!?"
"Glad to see you didn't faint this time..." Uriel said tiredly. She then continued, "As for how I got in... Your passcode to the elevator was rather easy to guess. But seriously, what kind of self-respecting woman used 'Manwich' as a password?"
Blushing in embarassment in that comment, Gina narrowed her eyes at the member of the Dynasty of the Stars. "What are you doing here, Uriel? Don't you know that you're not welcome here?"
Rolling her eyes at the rude Earth-human's defensiveness, Uriel said, "Listen, Gina, was it? I need your help!"
Gina stared at Uriel for a moment. "And why, pray-tell, should I help you?"
Uriel looked at Gina seriously. "Because the lives of the harpy and the dark-skinned woman may be in great danger."
Gina's eyes widened with that. "Charlotte and Penny? What did you do with them!?"
Holding up the round green-crystal, Uriel spoke. "This is what was inside that Betatech chest you had opened yesterday. I took it with me because I thought it might be useful. However, I must iterate that I did not mean for what happened to happen. For you see, when I let go of this crystal this morning, it rolled towards Penny and Charlotte and it sucked them inside of it."
"YOU DID WHAT!?" Gina screamed.
"I swear I did not mean for this to happen." Uriel reiterated.
Rolling her eyes with what Uriel had said, Gina said, "Yeah right."
Uriel glared at Gina. "Look. Personally, I do not really give a crap for your two allies. However, I do not wish to see or cause unecessary suffering of people. True for all I know, those two might be okay, but there is the possibility they are not."
Nodding her head to that, Gina knew she had to do something. She did not want her two friends to be hurt. After a moment, Gina said, "You know, Uriel, you surprise me. I never thought the Dynasty to have anyone who remotely cared about anyone."
"We don't." Uriel replied. "We just hate to cause destruction when there is nothing to be gained. It's pointless.
Gina narrowed her eyes at Uriel. "Well, aren't you just the humanitarian..." Gina said sarcastically.
