Ayoko was surprised to receive a call from her cousin, Yohko. While the two of them had settled their differences, their personalities tended to clash. While they no longer were fighting, they didn't just casually call each other up. (Much to Yohko's chagrin, actually, but true nonetheless.)
"So, what's going on then?" Ayoko asked as she took the phone from her Azusa.
Yohko sighed over the phone. "I'm calling to give you a heads up. There was a murder last night, and it might involve us."
Ayoko straightened. "Caused by a demon?"
"No. If it was, I would have been able to tell. Look, because of how the victim was killed and the fact that the killer took her heart, well... my Grandmother thinks this might be part of a ritual to turn someone into a some kind of super-demon."
"Tell me you're kidding."
"Sorry. I'm not. Look... come on by with Azusa2, and we'll give you the whole scoop. Until then - you two watch your back. 'Cause if this is the ritual Grandmother's thinking about, then the psycho is going to need to sacrifice 'a warrior' ... and we qualify."
Ayoko cursed. "What about your Azusa? She there too?"
"Nope. Her mother took ill, and so she's gone home to Komoridani to take care of her."
"Okay then. We'll stop by this evening."
"See you then."
