Shampoo snuck her treats.
Akane sniffed them over and determined they were indeed what they appeared to be. Milk Bone™ doggie biscuits. Very tasty too.
Listening to Shampoo, it was apparent that Shampoo was lonely and missed a little puppy she'd had years and years ago. Until Mousse had apparently been confronted with a growling dog when he'd tried to sneak into her room years ago. A warrior never could show weakness about a little stray dog, but there apparently there was still a grudge there. Finding out that Shampoo had a hidden sentimental side was a major shock to Akane.
EVERYBODY loved Akane the Dog-girl.
Ukyo. Kodachi. Yuka. Sayuri. Okay, the boys were still perverts and drooled when she bounded around playing fetch.
Maybe it was because she wasn't a rival? She was Ranma's pet, not his fiancee. She was a clever dog-girl and a good girl.
It was so comfortable that if she didn't fight it now she might just end up relaxing into it and forgetting herself that she had ever been the youngest Tendo sister and Ranma's fiancee!
Every time she was praised or played with or petted, she felt so... good. Part of the pack. Valued. Proud. Happy. Everytime she was scolded or if Ranma raised his voice at her, she felt like tucking her tail in between her legs and cowering. Contrite. Sad. Unhappy. Miserable.
After making a supreme effort, she'd figured out how best to make her talking debut. Since she had a muzzle and long floppy tongue, it would be difficult, but if she kept trying she should be able to talk and let people know she could talk. She'd have to be careful though, the way she would do it would be to:
