The Pools of Sorrow, Jusenkyo.
By granting its 'gift' to others, Jusenkyo could view the world through the cursed eyes of its victim. That was how it learned, that was how it survived the endless years it had paid witness too.
Did I mention Jusenkyo was petty? Even the simplist slight against its being inspired its wrath. It always remembered the anger, the pain, and the desire to destroy those who would seek to hurt it. Even if some one pissed in one of its pools five thousand years ago, it would remember who did it, why it happened, and how best to destroy the little gnat.
It remembered the Nezumi - or Wererats. It remembered the destruction of its own Nezumi Spring, something it had tried VERY hard to get. The reason? Selfish Nezumi didn't want 'Unclean' gutter trash finding the pool, using it to ascend their social order. It couldn't remember 'when' this happened, but if it were asked it would respond 'The past'
Probably the Shongunate, not that it really cared 'when' it happened.
It had learned much in its time, it had witnessed the Were-cheetah massacre through the eyes of a Blue Jay. It had watched the Nezumi's minor involvement in it. The Nezumi wished the Werecheetahs destruction, Jusenkyo wished the Nezumi's destruction.
How best to do it?
Jusenkyo sat in wait for many years, though to it little time passed at all. Until it felt one of its more... beautiful 'children' come into contact with a strange magical matrix.
Jusenkyo took moments (barely a milisecond) to realize what this Matrix was. Lycanthropie, though it was mainly inactive. For shits and giggles, Jusenkyo looked deeper into the Lycanthropie and nearly squeeled in delight when it discovered the 'Were-cheetah' string.
It would take time, a few hours to work, but when Jusenkyo was done with its 'Beautiful Child' he would be changed, much to the Nezumi's dismay when they discover it.
It breifly considered it, then agreed with itself. Yes, near instantaneous fertlization would muck up those Nezumi's even more. So with magical forces beyond imagination, It set about its grisly work. Altering, infecting and changes its most 'beautiful child'.
A bonus It found. No matter the 'gender' of its Child, it found it could now see everything its child did. A permanate conduit to the outside world.. oh this was one child it would treasure for a long.. long time.
