"Yes, well," said Usagi, incidently switching her Sailor Communicator to Ami and clicking Transmit amongst heavy worrying about the absent Luna. "What exactly were you doing making deals with my younger brother to eat me?"

"I was very hungry," said the monster. "Still am, actually."

"Are you a scout for some Dark Kingdom here to destroy the world after draining it of energy?" Usagi asked, wondering if it was the usual menace.

"Hardly," said the monster, looking at Usagi as if she were crazy. "Actually I'm:

• here as a scout for the Vogons. Your world is going to be demolished to make way for a hyperspace bypass."
• a scout for the refugee fleet. We're the remnants of a few dozen worlds fleeing a Dark Invader and trying to find a home of our own."
• a talent scout. We're auditioning for Galactic Idol, you see."
• a private detective - at least I think that's the right term. There's an intergalactic criminal I tracked to this world."
• looking for this group of superheroes. This guy put out a book about these people are planning to conquer the universe and destroy any nonhumans they run across. Naturally, the galactic council is rather concerned." Usagi recognizes the author's name as one of their former opponents.
• something else
